This app requires a mobile device with GPS geo-tagging of images… The idea is that you stumble across a place that you are intrigued by - a pub, secret club, beer garden, park, gallery, photo opp site, etc - but it’s not the right time! So you take a snap of the place from within the app… The picture(s) gets added as a physical place of interest… The user can then add optional information: notes (as to why), tags (perhaps a set of pre-defined tags such as: dinner, private, secret, club, party, pub, breakfast, scenic, etc + the option to add their own tags), place name, additional directions… They must also add appropriate ‘fuzzy’ times to the location. Multiple times can be selected - the idea being that when you are looking for something to do / somewhere to go, you can eliminate inappropriate locations by based on time: very early morning, morning, noon, afternoon, evening, night, late night…
So when you are looking for a place to go, you can browse a GPS enabled map of your surrounding based on locations you’ve entered…
A Facebook-type app can be combined with this to make it even more powerful and beneficial… I.E. You’re going to Berlin, one of your friends has been before, or lives there… You can browse their locations and add whatever ones appear to your own…
This can also be tied in with reviews / ratings by people who’ve been to these locations… Ratings by friends weigh in much higher than that of strangers…
Location merging would have to be handled by the users by submitting a merge of two locations… Majority votes rule in favour of merge or separation…
A completely user-driven app where users upload pics of individual pieces of art as something they identify with / admire… They can give it a rating… Make a comment about it (why they like it)… Tag it with a genre / movement… Input set details about the artwork (media, date, location, current location / gallery, artists / critic’s description or opinion)… Everything will be based on user submissions and ‘voting’… Everything that gets uploaded needs to be saved (text revisions included)… People ‘vote’ for information, or change as required… The majority will rule… But an option to ‘hear’ the less popular info will be given…
As for artwork imagery… Any submissions will be accepted… Scans, photographs, details… ‘Votes’ will decide on the best image to represent the artwork… All other images will be viewable, except in the extreme cases where pranksters have stepped in to upload obviously erroneous imagery…
I’ll flesh this out more later… Just wanted to get it out there for now… But I think it’s another really good way to express yourself within a social network profile… And an excellent way of discovering artists / artwork both new and old…
Monitor for approaching vehicles… Delay the light change for that stray car who’s just not going to make the light… It can’t be difficult to do - there is a lot of traffic monitoring in place already and it wouldn’t take rocket science to implement… Save the individual’s fuel consumption… Thus reducing carbon emissions… Help mother earth!
Use a modular fuel cell design… Dump the extra cells before landing for reuse… Set up a tripod of landing zones surrounding airport on entry to runway (depending on wind directions etc)… Use Parachute / airbag assisted drops…
Just face it… You’re not actually going to do anything about your big idea are you? When did you get it? What have you done about it since? And what happened to the last big idea you had? But it’s still a big idea right? So… Write it up and set it (and yourself) free!
The main aim of this tumblr is to be a searchable think tank of sorts… To inspire people in the right positions to put your big idea to work and make a difference! After all, what good is a big idea if it’s only ever just a big idea?
And to those of you looking to cash in on these ideas - just be decent about it! Give credit where credit is due and if possible, do the honorable thing and let the inventor / innovator in on a TINY bit of the financial reward… We’ll hunt down and ostracize you if we find out that you don’t!
